A Fortnight's Worth of Ramblings

went out with my roommate rina and her friend tina. ket’s alter ego went to play and danced the night away. had free booze all night long. guys just couldn’t resist our charms. but sorry guys, i’m taken, very much taken. drank the most number of alcohol i could consume in 1 night. 3 bottles of Smirnoff ice. 5% vodka. went home really pooped.

had a lingering hangover from last night. never again. was supposed to go out with a handsome south African engineer but opted not to. reminded myself i’m not in the dating arena right now. well, that is, unless “he” is the one asking me out., which never happened anyway. and probably never will.

had a chat-marathon with Beam. 9 pm: went to eat squidballs and siomai at the nearby mall. went on to eat cheese bread from the Lebanese bakery. proceeded to the park to talk some more. park’s lights went out at around 1 am, but who cares anyhow? continued sharing info and some secrets. went home at around 3 or 4 am.

started work as channel sales executive. had no idea what my job is. morning: was stuck in the conference room with Glen from Iligan City, Manhal the Syrian lawyer, and Krishna the Indian physicist. whew! talk about diversity! afternoon: started product training. information overload. had a crush-crushan with a Bisaya officemate (not Glen). as usual, wasn’t able to talk to him. hehe… and when i finally did, my crush-crushan feelings faded away. he’s just all face value. someone out there is definitely much much better (*wink wink*)

went to sharjah in the morning. visited the branch there. went back to dubai at 1:30 pm. passed lunch. couldn’t afford it. was asked to do overtime. went home at 8 pm. reeeeally starving. … and guess what? no food at home. gas! ate bread instead. convinced myself i’m not that hungry anyway.

went back to sharjah to have my transcript attested. good thing i was able to borrow money needed for the attestation. had to wait for 4 hours so i stayed at the sharjah corniche, a some kind of park beside the lagoon. had a chat with the Lord and was able to let go of those i had to let go—baggages, worries, problems, “him”… or so i thought. went back to dubai office. was really tired.

no money at all. couldn’t even afford the 1.50 bus fare to church. walked some 45 mins instead to attend VCF. was late, but better than missing the service anyway. was so blessed my the message. walked back home feeling really good. until it started raining more than halfway back home. arrived home wet, hungry and really really tired. but nothing could dampen my spirits. slept for an hour. skipped lunch for the nth time. did a lot of handwashing and ironing for my flatmates in exchange for food for the next 3 days. good thing josh taught me how to handwash clothes during caravan 3 years ago. soooo tiring, got blisters on my hands. went to josh’s flat for dinner, his aunt’s bday. free food. had to take advantage of all the freebies in life. was again met by rains on my walk back home.

went to work again. felt bad in the morning. crush-crushan officemate had colds and he kept sitting beside me all day. immune system down from yesterday’s share of rains. by afternoon i was sneezing every now and then and my head really ached. not good. not good at all.

had a bad spell of colds and headache. was really sick i used up more than half a box of tissues. boss went out for a while. chatted over YM with silverjegs. called up Josh and felt much better. had a long talk over the phone with beam, which only got over because his phone’s batt went poof. very larcenous. i used the company’s phone. walked back home. good thing i wasn’t wearing killer shoes. had fever during the night.

wasn’t supposed to go to work. alarm went off at 6 am but i was feeling really awful. went back to sleep. concerned flatmate woke me up at 6:45. decided to go to work anyway. was running really late so i took a 10-minute bath. put on some make-up (this is a must!), got dressed in unpressed clothes. very unprofessional. packed my packed lunch. and went out at 7:45. really bad. work is 8 am and the office is like a 30-min walk away from flat. AND I’M WEARING MY KILLER SHOES! blessing: officemate with car passed by and offered a lift. yey! had morning meeting with the sales team and the asst. gen. manager. was lost in translation for they used their language often. was given assignments – all the accounts the others have been unsuccessful with. pressure! that being added to the fact that i’m the only girl (woman) in outdoor sales. crush-crushan officemate gave me medicine. felt much better. because of the medicine, that is. have to start working really hard. but went on blogging instead. sooo bad.
